Bob Cone, a Director of the Firm handles all areas of business and commercial litigation with particular emphasis in business torts, banking law, construction cases, products liability, contracts, unfair trade practices, and landlord-tenant disputes. He has also achieved significant results for persons injured in motor vehicle accidents and as a result of toxic chemicals. Bob has won a number of jury verdicts in federal and state courts, has handled complex litigation as lead counsel in the North Carolina Business Court, and has argued cases on appeal in the North Carolina appellate courts and in the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. His litigation practice includes alternative dispute resolution procedures, and he is a certified mediator. Recognized by his peers in the area of trial practice, Bob is a member of the Guilford Inn of Court, and the American Inns of Court, where he is a Master of the Bench.
Bob is a past president of the Greensboro Bar Association and a member of the National Conference of Bar Presidents. He is a past member of the Advisory Board of the Conflict Resolution Program at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and a former member of the Dispute Resolution Council of the North Carolina Bar Association.
Bob is the chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Greensboro Public Library, a trustee and vice-chairman of the Greensboro Urban Ministry and a trustee and vice-chairman of the Executive Committee of the Moses Cone-Wesley Long Community Health Foundation. For over twenty years, Bob served as a trustee of Moses Cone Health System. He is president of the Rotary Club of Greensboro.
Bob received his law degree from the University of North Carolina in 1978 and his undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1974, where he was a Morehead Scholar.
