Mike Fox, a Director of the Firm, concentrates his practice in the areas of business litigation, government affairs and zoning and land use. Mike views his primary role as an attorney as being a problem solver for clients and he routinely counsels clients on business disputes and issues with the government. Mike has extensive experience representing clients in business and commercial matters before judges and juries in state and federal court, and his former tenure as a prosecutor gives him a wealth of experience representing clients both in court and in pre-trial negotiations. Mike also has experience advising clients on a wide range of land use issues, and his knowledge of government affairs allows him to routinely solve problems and cut red tape for clients who are in conflict with various government agencies. Mike was recognized by his peers as one of the “Best Lawyers in America” in the land use and zoning practice area.
Mike has been a leader in the community and has been recognized for his contributions to numerous community and non-profit organizations. He has held leadership roles in the North Carolina Bar Association, serving on the Corporate Counsel Council and the Public Information Committee. Mike currently serves as the chair of the Greensboro Planning Board. In the past, Mike has held leadership positions with the Salvation Army, Boys and Girls Clubs, One Stop Further and Leadership Greensboro. Mike has also served as a member of the Steering Committee of the Young Executives Forum of the North Carolina Chamber of Commerce and as Chairperson of the Governmental Affairs Committee of the Greensboro Chamber of Commerce.
Mike is a 1989 graduate of the University of North Carolina School of Law, where he was the recipient of The Franklin T. Dupree Sr. Scholarship. Mike was a Chancellor’s Scholar at Appalachian State University where he graduated summa cum laude in 1986. He is admitted to practice in Georgia and North Carolina. |
