Our lawyers direct and manage a wide array of federal and state tax controversies for our clients, ranging from audit and administrative appeals to trial and appellate litigation. Although some tax cases are best settled, others are best litigated. We analyze each case and provide results-oriented advice to our clients. We have extensive experience handling disputes related to income, sales and use, employment, ERISA, and estate tax examinations, as well as tax collection matters, such as offers-in-compromise and the negotiation of payment arrangements. Our lawyers represent clients in tax disputes with the North Carolina Department of Revenue, other state departments of revenue, and the Internal Revenue Service, and we have substantial experience litigating tax cases before state and federal courts, including the United States Tax Court.
