Reinier is an energetic and driven individual with proven experience in both engineering and law.  He understands the importance of regularly consulting his clients to keep them informed about how to obtain, maintain, and utilize intellectual property rights.  He goes above and beyond to make sure that his clients understand even the most complicated facets of trademark, patent, and copyright law.

Before Law School Reinier worked as an engineering consultant throughout the five boroughs of New York, surveying and drafting project plans for telecommunication companies to use when installing equipment.  During law school, he began working as a research and development consultant for a hydroponic floral company.  His focus was to design, create, and test new concepts that would be implemented into business strategy.  Having a unique perspective on horticulture, due to his Dutch heritage, has allowed Reinier to be listed co-inventor on at least three patents in that industry.

Before joining Tuggle Duggins, Reinier worked in private practice focusing on business law, intellectual property, and litigation.  Previously, he focused his professional talents on business formation and has counseled small and medium-sized businesses.  He has also represented clients in litigation matters involving trademark oppositions, business fraud, and employment disputes. These experiences allowed Reinier to gain perspective into business development and how to prioritize business strategies.

Outside of the Office

As a former rower for the Temple University Division 1 Men’s Crew team, Reinier enjoys staying active in his spare time.  He plays goalie for a soccer team in Charlotte, hikes the Appalachian Mountain trails, and rides his bicycle throughout his neighborhood.  Reinier’s newest hobby involves flying his DJI Phantom 4 drone to capture stunning quality pictures and video.
