Effective July 1, 2013, the Board of Governors of the North Carolina Bar Association approved the nomination of Mike Wenig to serve as chair of the Tax Section for the 2013-2014 fiscal year.

The Tax Section with currently 495 members, sponsors CLE programs and services; provides members with a substantive newsletter; and helps mold the association’s legislative agenda for presentation to the N.C. The Tax Section also offers a wide variety of programs on federal and local tax issues and engages in tax policy projects. The section has an opportunity to meet annually with IRS agents, and the council meets annually with Department of Revenue representatives.

Mike Wenig, CPA, JD, a director of Tuggle Duggins P.A., has over twenty-five years of experience counseling closely held business clients on a variety of issues.  He is a certified public accountant and has extensive experience representing individual and corporate taxpayers before the Internal Revenue Service, state revenue departments, and in various courts.  In addition to counseling clients, Mike is an award-winning speaker.
