The firm is pleased to announce that Robert C. Cone will participate as a speaker at the Greensboro Bar Association’s annual January seminar. Bob’s topic is trust account management issues and fraud prevention measures law firms can implement to insure the security of entrusted funds.
Licensed to practice law in 1978, Bob earned his undergraduate and law degrees from UNC-CH, where he was a Morehead-Cain Scholar. Bob is a partner at Tuggle Duggins, where he handles commercial, construction, contract, banking, and employment cases; real property and landlord-tenant disputes; product liability and personal injury cases; and business disputes of all kinds. Bob regularly appears as lead counsel in the North Carolina federal and state trial courts, including the Business Court, and has handled appeals in the North Carolina Supreme Court and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. He is a mediator in the state and federal trial courts and in the U.S. Postal Service REDRESS program.
Bob is a past president of the Greensboro Bar Association and is currently the president of the Guilford Inn of Court, which is dedicated to excellence in trial practice and mentoring young lawyers. Bob was recently elected to his third term on the North Carolina State Bar Council, where he is a member of the Executive Committee and a past vice-chair of the Grievance Committee. Bob is a member of the National Conference of Bar Presidents and a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation.
Bob is a past chairman of the Cone Health Foundation and a member and past president of the Rotary Club of Greensboro. He is a past chairman of the Greensboro Public Library, a past vice-chairman of the Greensboro Urban Ministry, and a past member of the Advisory Board of the Conflict Resolution Program at UNCG.
