Lauren M. Slack

Lauren Slack chose Tuggle Duggins twice, first as a summer associate in 2025 and then as the place to begin her career. 

A Greensboro native and graduate of Northwest Guilford High School, she joined the firm’s real estate practice this September after earning her J.D. from the University of North Carolina School of Law, coming home to the city where she grew up.

Practice Focus

Lauren works with the firm’s real estate team, with a particular interest in commercial leasing and landlord-tenant matters, but like every new Tuggle Duggins associate she takes on projects across the firm’s practice groups.

At UNC she served as an Articles and Notes Editor of the North Carolina Banking Institute Journal and was named a Dean’s Fellow. Before law school she interned with the Wake County District Attorney’s Office and the North Carolina Guardian ad Litem program, where she drafted motions and built an updated appellate guide for pro bono attorneys.

Outside of the Work

Lauren spent three years volunteering with Juliet’s House Animal Rescue in Greensboro, fostering cats and dogs, and two cats of her own now run her household. Off the clock she reads and hunts for area trails she has not walked yet. She also credits a busy hostess job at a Raleigh restaurant with teaching her how to read people, a skill she considers as useful in law as it was on a Saturday night waitlist.
