Joshua R. Plummer

His practice focuses on commercial real estate matters including acquisitions, development, leasing, financing, tax credits, and affordable housing — and he brings to each matter a background in corporate and business law that keeps the broader business objectives in view throughout.

Before entering the legal profession, Josh served as an officer in the United States Marine Corps, retiring from active duty in 2019. That experience — leading under pressure, making high-stakes decisions with incomplete information, and staying mission-focused — translates directly into the way he serves clients. He approaches every transaction with an eye toward managing risk, anticipating complications, and keeping deals on track.

Because real estate decisions rarely happen in isolation from a client’s broader business and financial picture, Josh works alongside Tuggle Duggins’ corporate and estate planning attorneys when transactions intersect with ownership structure, business succession, or long-term wealth planning. He is also a VA Accredited Attorney and brings particular experience serving veterans navigating real estate and business legal matters.

Outside the Office

Josh lives in Mocksville with his wife and their four sons. An avid outdoorsman, he’s most at home in the mountains or on the water — and whenever possible, he brings his family along. He serves on the Board of Directors for The Reason Outdoors, a veteran-founded nonprofit that helps veterans and first responders find healing through outdoor experiences and ecotherapy.
